Growing up in Council Grove, Shawn learned the ropes of the ag industry from his dad, who managed a feedlot on the old Herington Army Air Base. In 2007, Shawn and his brother, Shane, purchased the business where their dad was an employee with only a handshake, and they created Tiffany Cattle Company. Since then, the brothers have grown the business from one feedlot with 2,500 head of cattle to today, finishing over 75,000 head per year for farmers and ranchers throughout the midwest across four feedlots.
As Shawn and his brother grew their business, they experienced firsthand attempts by the elites in Washington, New York, and California to put an end to our Kansas way of life. After seeing how burdensome regulations, taxes, and energy policies hurt his ag operation, Shawn decided it was time to start fighting back.
Shawn has worked on behalf of Kansas ag producers to fight against the radical left’s attacks on the heartland. As California climate activists sought to impose overreaching regulations that threatened the future of his industry, Shawn stood up for Kansas ag. He has also testified in front of the Senate Agriculture Committee, where he voiced his opposition to the out-of-touch policies being pushed by the elites in Washington – and won.
In addition to his work in the ag industry, Shawn is active in his church community, serving as an elder for over 10 years. For the past eight years, Shawn has served as the board president of the Tri-County Telephone Association, where he works to improve broadband and fiber access to rural communities throughout the Flint Hills of Kansas.
Shawn graduated from Kansas State in 2000, where he met his wife, Nicky. The two are passionate about rural revitalization and together they operate a historic event and lodging venue in Council Grove. They have five children, Ransom, Taylor Jo, Ainsley, Whitney, and Stockton, who are homeschooled and participate in youth rodeo and public school sports.
Shawn Tiffany knows what it takes to fight against Washington’s overreach. He’s ready to take the fight to the swamp to stand up for our Kansas values and defend our freedoms from being attacked by the DC bureaucrats.
